Langer Intro Blog Post

Hello everybody! My name is Chris Langer and I am a senior studying English with a concentration in literature. I am looking forward to studying the masterworks of american literature with you all. I am from Saint Louis but rarely visit back there now that I have found a home in New Orleans. I work full time in retail for Crocs (yes the ugly shoes.) I run our outlet store in the Tanger Outlets in Gonzales. So, in this course, I get the best of both worlds: I get to read and study the english that I love and also have the time for work as well. Through our introductory text of Moby Dick I have become accustomed to the early American style of writing. I have combined it with an audio book to listen to during my drives to work. I love the alternating chapters of action and information and hope that is a theme to expect from the rest of our texts. I really admire the way that learning historical information is combined with the intriguing story line of vengeance upon a white whale. I'm looking forward to the rest of this semester's texts...
