intro blog
Hey guys! Michael Koehler's my name. In the picture, I'm the one on the left. I'm a senior English Literature major on track to finish my degree at the end of this semester, then walk next spring. I do have a post-graduation plan. I'm returning to my home state, Arizona, though not to Tempe, the city I was born and raised in. I'm headed down to Tuscon, to pursue the second half of an Engineering degree (all the non-engineering courses have been covered at Loyola through electives and my mathematics minor). Numbers have always been my passion. Words i still love and always will, but they seem more like a hobby or entertainment rather than a career path. Besides, my pre-college plan was to go into engineering, but that was abandoned during the first night i spent in New Orleans.
I read syllabus to this course, and got excited immediately after doing so. First of all, I haven't taken an online college course yet, and that was something I wanted to experience. More importantly, old America has always been something I've had a strong interest in, but it isn't a topic I've explored beyond the classes I've been required to take. The opportunity to experience that era through the nonfiction and fiction writings of authors that have been dubbed some of the all time greatest makes this course stand out as extremely unique.
It seems like everyone else is just as excited for this course as I am. Should be a fun class, and i hope everyone has a great semester.

ReplyDeleteThanks, and welcome to the class. It is nice to have a person who loves numbers also taking English.
